Built a website with AI: do you need a domain, hosting or both?

How a website was created does not determine its hosting needs. The decision depends on where it runs and what it uses: static files, an application server, a database, uploads or background jobs. Gather these facts before buying a server.

Choose a platform and search for a domain on IT PLUS
On the IT PLUS domain connection page: choose your platform and search for a name. Interface captured on 15 September 2026.

Review server plans and share the project requirements with support. “AI website” is not enough to choose a plan. Do not assume every shared plan supports Node.js or long-running processes. An operating system on a VPS does not mean the application or database is already configured.

Information to collect

  • Runtime language and version, plus build and start commands.
  • Whether pages are static or need SSR or an API.
  • Database type, size and current location.
  • External services for authentication, payments, email and files.
  • Backup and update requirements, and who will administer the server.
  • Expected traffic, storage and memory needs as a starting point to measure.

Test the application before switching the domain

Test builds, login, forms and uploads on a temporary or subdomain address, with test settings for financial services. Do not put server secrets in browser-delivered files. Prepare backups and a rollback path, then update website records while preserving email. Later resource upgrades should follow actual usage measurements.

Check the price and term before paying

First-year registration and renewal can have different prices. Check the current price list and then search your exact name: premium names can cost more. The pricing section on this page reads examples from the current catalogue; it does not confirm availability. A platform subscription, email and hosting are separate services when needed. Choose your currency and review the full billing term before confirming.
